Poetry

from Where Chinese Women Float in Space
David Harrison Horton

Boats anchored in the harbor,
center and to the right
carried by waves towards the sea
Wang Zhen floats
where Chinese women float in air
and on the sea
undulating in time and effort
there are voices — heard
by those with ears trained to receive
calling for something akin
to the closure of distance
between them and others
Wang Zhen and herself
