morphnacular vii.: midlife hypophora
Joseph Milford
life begins like a flight to Vegas
gambling themes metastasized
you find ideologies quicker than
your hotel keys—midlife
you look down flying over the salt lakes
a junkyard of misgivings
under your Sopwith Pegasus
your purchases exploding
like pigeons over rooftops
you are hired to be a navigator
of hemorrhages, images of western
ruin, relic, anything racemiferous
oxymoronic oxy addict with a lifespan
wider than the mythology's
wingspan and that thunderbird flew
centuries before the mesas were named
after dead shamans, pueblos, & petroglyphs
